Some months ago a friend invited me to play Words with Friends. At the time I said I spent altogether too much time on the computer already and thought it would be ill-advised for me to start this. Besides, I am not fond of seeing on Face Book reports of words people have played in the game. But as so often happens in my life, I had a change of heart.
It happened because I was home recuperating; spending a lot of couch time. And so I entered in. I think many months ago I removed myself (my posts) from the “ticker” in Face Book (if not, will someone let me know?) and when I started playing Words with Friends on my Kindle I indicated I wanted my games to be “private” – so I trust no one but my game partners are seeing how poorly I am doing (better described as having my ass whooped).
What I want someone to invent – techies out there, listen up! – is FUNETIX WITH FRNDZ. In this game you play the same way, using whatever you can from among your seven available tiles, but in my game you get to spell phonetically – if you must; you’re still allowed to play “for real” spelling, but are no longer bound by it. Doesn’t that sound like fun?? In only two games that I was playing tonight I could have “scored” with the following:
Mavin for Maven
Vikar for Vicar
Razer for Razor
Viril for Virile
Lazer for Laser
Can’t you see that the possibilities are endless? AND, the technical gurus behind the design of this game could add audio so that it “spoke”the word played – and if they really wanted to help us get smarter they could “speak”the definition. I cannot tell you how many words my opponents use – and now even me as I “try” a word and it is sometimes accepted – that I have no clue
Who can design this? I will be Beta tester!!
