I was both well prepared and well supported. Back two cars ago Doug who was my manager at Siemens at the time, helped me buy a car. As we drove to the dealership to get down to a discussion of price he told me that before we got there, I needed to decide how much I was willing to pay. I had not forgotten the lesson (some 20 years ago!) and it was helpful - I bought the car for $194 more than the price I had in mind...not bad! I also had great present support from my friend Linda who went shopping with me, and was both inquisitive with regard to the salesman as I test drove, and supportive of me as I test drove. And, she lived to tell about it! The car has a manual transmission and it has been decades since I last drove one - but all is well, it's like riding a bike I guess.
Hope you note that I now have a car that matches the garage! :-)
