I was just doing a little cleanup of my desktop (easier than the real cleanup needed in my home) and ran across a document with a few “starters” – this was one of them. It feels right for today, a day more than others recently, when I am feeling empty: of good food which for the while holds little appeal, of a sense of self worth, indeed of both spirit and energy. I didn’t know who Aurobindo was so looked him up. Wikipedia tells us he was an Indian nationalist, freedom fighter, philosopher and (aha!) poet. Aurobindo lived from 1872 to 1950. The article goes on to say “The central theme of Aurobindo's vision was the evolution of human life into life divine. He wrote: ‘Man is a transitional being. He is not final.'"
I so hope this is true – that we are always in transition, evolving, falling down, learning, getting up and getting a wink from God to go on again. I am not final. My empty feeling is not the end. I am on a journey. “Shine a little light on me. When it's getting dark too dark to see – Shine a little light on me.”
