Fortunately our growth, our focus, is not an end run; it is not a journey from here to there, but rather a journey from here to wherever it takes us - and the journey does not end until we draw our last breath. (And then of course we hope that the footprints we have left behind have significance for others...) I think I did get "it" right in those opening words, noting that we might be transformed by the world we see and consider. Transformation is the engine of our journey: we are changed each step of the way.
If you are a Face Book user I would like to invite you to my latest "step" on the journey. It is a page that I have named Cows Community Commitment. The title might have had some punctuation had Face Book permitted, but then, we do sometimes need to learn to work within the confines of our tools... The premise of the page is this: to prompt "...ways in which to level the world's playing field. Inspired by Heifer Int'l, strength in community, and commitment to problems solving." It seems everywhere I turn lately, my conscience is challenged by the abundance of blessings I know (as a middle class American), and the absence of so much in the way of needed basics that so many others experience.
On this page I have shared those things that have prompted me to wonder what I might do - what WE (the community) might do, and how a small commitment on the part of many might lead to a wave of change. Please visit the page - and then "like" it - and then share it. And please offer your insights into how you and I might become change agents in a world in dire need. Thank you.
